Conference Orientation
If this will be your first time at the HDI Annual Conference & Expo, you may want to take advantage of a "guided tour" through all the events and activities we have planned. This 30-minute session highlights what to do, where to go, how to navigate the sessions, and what not to miss throughout the three packed days of education, expo, networking, and fun.
The Oasis
Celebrate community in the HDI 2004 Oasis, the most unique networking haven ever. From sunup to sundown, gather in the Oasis to greet old friends – and make some new ones -- network with colleagues, peers and leaders in the industry. Discuss ideas and stories with others from similar industries or geographies, participate in roundtable discussions, and enjoy breakfast, lunch, and breaks throughout the day in this tropical refuge. Use the Oasis to hold a team meeting with other attendees from your organization, or just gather to relax, chat, and sip a cool tropical drink.
Sunrise Salutation Start your day with an energizing stretch as you soak up the early morning rays. Exercise your body as you prepare to exercise your mind!
Daybreak Stories Get growing at daybreak. Each morning hundreds of attendees get up early and start their day being read to by HDI's Chief Morale Officer, Kirk Weisler. Come join Kirk as he presents a warm and wonderful mix of best selling books, best practices, and inspirational stories all designed to inspire leaders and empower you to inspire those you work with back home. You’ll leave each morning with insights you can take home and do with your teams right away in order to make a difference, to celebrate, and to build community.
Daybreak Discussions Begin each morning at breakfast feeding your body and your mind with a host of round table discussions. In addition to informal networking organized by common interests and geography, you will find several topical discussions, facilitated by the conference faculty, members, and fellow colleagues. The popular Daybreak Stories, with HDI’s chief morale officer Kirk Weisler, will also be featured each morning!
Culture Crunch with the Lunch Bunch
Come on down to the Oasis, pick up your lunch, join the group, and do the culture crunch! This oasis of culture building fun and madness will allow you to gather some of the very best ideas – and do – activities you can take back and do with your people. Kirk leads the way and demonstrates tools to help create more powerful connections and celebrate a more positive, helpful help desk culture! Each day will be new and fresh. Participate, play, connect, and engage with CMO Kirk and experience for yourself what the explosive buzz is all about.
Afternoon Under the Palms
Take advantage of this dedicated time for even more highly interactive workshops, special interest group discussions, and up-close-and-personal conversations with our featured Celebrations speakers on Monday afternoon. Gather and share ideas, ask questions of the experts, and be inspired! The afternoon will be filled with ideas you can take back and use to improve your organization.

The Bridge: A Network to Carry You Beyond the Conference
This unique, value-added solutions workshop (free for full conference attendees) is designed to help you maximize your conference experience. Under the guidance of the Diagonal Group, use the unique “open space” solutions model to solve your existing business problems, work with your team, and share solutions throughout the conference.
Meet in the Oasis on Sunday to set the agenda, learn the model, devise a strategy to divide and conquer conference program. Then gather throughout the week in the Oasis to use The Bridge to find solutions to your real issues. You’ll connect with other attendees; meeting periodically in the Oasis at scheduled times to share, and convene as a group during the last session of week to develop action ideas learned to take back and do. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Register early!
