1. When is HDI 2006 Annual Conference & Expo?

2. How many attendees will be at the conference?

9. What are your payment/cancellation policies?
  • Payment Information
    To register, please call our customer service center at (800) 248-5667 or register online.

    To expedite your registration, please have your Visa, MasterCard or American Express card available when you call, or mail your payment by check or credit card. Billing is available. Invoices are payable upon receipt and prepayment (or a federal government purchase order) is required by March 1, 2006. Please make checks payable to HDI.

    Cancellation Policy:
    All cancellations must be made in writing. You may cancel without penalty until January 28, 2006, after which a $150 cancellation will be charged. Cancellations after February 17, 2006 or no shows will be charged the full conference rate.

11. Can I send someone in my place, if I can no longer attend?
  • Yes, please be sure to tell us your replacements name and address before the conference.
12. I am an HDI member, are there any membership discounts?
  • Yes, all HDI members receive $100 discount off the conference registration fee.
13. I’ve attended in the past, are there any alumni discounts?
  • Yes, alumni to any HDI conference can receive an alumni discount of $100.
14. Is there an early bird discount?
  • Yes, there are two early bird discounts:
  • Register by December 16th and you receive a FREE one-day pre-conference workshop (a $395 value).
  • Register by January 20, 2006 and you receive $100 off the registration fee.
15. Can I bring a guest to any of the receptions or parties?
  • Guest tickets for conference receptions are available pre-conference or on-site at the HDI registration booth. Welcome Reception tickets are available for $50.00/person. Conference party tickets are available for $70.00/person.
16. Can I bring a guest to any sessions or keynotes?
  • No, all conference participants must be registered attendees.
17. Where do I go to register on-site?
  • Conference registration will be located at the Nashville Opryland hotel in the Presidential Foyer.
18. When will on-site registration be available?
  • On-site registration begins on Friday, March 17th from 7 am to 8 am. Saturday from 7 am to 8 am and from 3 pm to 6 pm. Sunday/Monday/Tuesday from 7 am to 6 pm. Wednesday from 7 am to 1pm.
19. What materials will I receive as part of my registration?
  • Conference attendees will receive a conference bag; Proceedings Manual (all conference handouts); Program & Exhibitor Guide (complete listing of all sessions and exhibitors at the event; Pocket Guide (schedule at a glance); Conference Badge (entrance into all conference keynotes, sessions, expo and receptions); Conference Meal tickets

21. What should I wear to attend the conference?
  • Business casual.
  • To the conference party – comfortable, festive clothing, with comfortable shoes for dancing.
22. Are you offering a special conference room rate? How do I make a reservation? How long will rooms be available?
  • Special conference rates have been reserved for this event: $179 single/double occupancy. A $10 resort fee will be be added to each room night to cover hotel services including: High speed Internet access; local and toll free phone calls; access to the fitness center; and daily newspaper and bottled water.
  • To make reservations, please call (888) 777-6779 and reference the HDI Conference rate. Or, to make reservations online, click on Hotel Information, and reserve online using the password: HELP when prompted. Hotel sleeping rooms will be held at the special conference rate until February 22, 2006 (or until they sell out) and will be based upon availability after this date.
23. Do you offer any travel discounts?

24. Does the hotel have wireless internet access?
  • High speed Internet access in guest rooms is included as a part of your $10 per room night resort fee.
25. Does the hotel have free parking?
  • Self-parking is available for $10.00 per day (plus tax); valet parking is available for $18.00 per day (plus tax). Prices are subject to change without notice.
26. What is the weather like?
  • March - Average Temperatures: High 60 F/16 C; Low 38 F/3 C
27. Does the hotel have irons and hair dryers in the rooms?
  • In-room iron, ironing board, blow dryer, coffee makers, in-room safe, 2 phones with dataport and voicemail
28. Does the hotel have work out facilities?
  • Yes, complimentary as part of your $10 per room night resort fee.
