I was introduced to HDI 9 years ago as a new manager in the customer service/support arena. I had been in customer service for many years prior to that but never in a leadership position. I recall my first HDI Conference in 2006 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN.
I was so overwhelmed with the willingness of everyone wanting to help me succeed! I have grown so much over the years in my knowledge of the industry because of my involvement with HDI not only on a national level but on a local chapter level as well. There are so many benefits of being a member of HDI. Benefits such as the white papers that are available on the website, local chapter involvement (I’m a LCO!), training/certification and networking with other people in the industry.
These things encourage me to renew my membership with HDI each year. Let’s not forget the AWESOME staff in Colorado Springs who are always willing to help and lend a word of encouragement! HDI has become a significant part of my professional life and I have met many people that have made me feel like part of the HDI family!
