COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Sept. 17 - PRNewswire -- Rich Hand, executive director of membership, HDI (http://www.thinkhdi.com), has authored his first book, My Life; Ignored! Life Is Too Short To Ignore Yours, and will soon embark on a speaking tour to discuss this unique autobiography.

Hand joined HDI five years ago, and is responsible for the strategic direction and operations of the world's largest membership association for IT help desk and service management professionals. Dedicated to adding value to the HDI membership programs, he oversees publications and membership services. Prior to joining HDI, Hand worked for Waste Management, Inc. He is also an amateur musician and ran for Congress. In My Life; Ignored! Hand writes about his childhood; friends, family and fatherhood; his many varied career choices, brushes with fame; his life as a politician, musician, blogger and author, and the important lessons he has learned along the way.

"I wrote this book to show that sometimes it's best to stop making excuses about why you can't do something and instead just go ahead and do it," explains Hand. "Read my autobiography because it will motivate you to write your own, literally or figuratively. Live your story with a reinvigorated passion to fulfill your childhood dreams and your dreams of tomorrow. We can all make an impact in this world. Make your life count."

Hand concludes My Life; Ignored! with a "To Do" list that includes daydreaming, believing in and pursuing your dreams, ignoring naysayers and conventional wisdom about taking risks. And, he extends an invitation to his readers: "Only you can take the time to live your life, ignored," writes Hand. "What are you waiting for, an invitation? Okay: I, Rich Hand, invite you to live a life, ignored. I invite you to run for office, take up the piano, get your degree in anything, learn a language and fulfill your destiny on this earth. Now get to it!"

Hand will soon begin a speaking tour of HDI Local Chapters. "I want to spread the message of this book: Start implementing your passions. Once you do you'll wonder why you waited so long. It's up to you. No one can stop you or more importantly; start you. Put down this book and start writing your own life story. There is a story to be told in every life. Make yours a positive one," says Hand.
