Joshua Luke, Albany International Corp.
Joshua Luke joined Albany International Corporation in 2004. In his current role, Joshua is the Manager of the Desktop Management Team. His team members are located in three different countries, the United States, England and Brazil.
With Joshua’s vision and leadership, he has grown the team size and responsibilities to have a continuous improvement desktop automation process, empowering our IT teams and users, while securing our computers from being attacked from viruses and ransomware.
Joshua has led us on many projects, such as restructuring System Center Configuration Manager Environment, Client Least privilege, Acronis backups of the manufacturing machines, Druva Backup, Encrypting File System, Active Directory, local file servers and virtual machines management. With Joshua’s gratefulness, confidence, and fearlessness he brings us all together, as if were all in the same office, to complete these tasks successfully and in a timely manner.
Joshua's leadership, communication skills and willingness to help train and assist others while using his expertise has helped him to earn the respect of Senior Management and his colleagues. Joshua's future at Albany International, as well as all of ours, is very bright as he passes down his skills to us to better achieve our goals in our careers and in life. He has been a great mentor and has made a huge difference for many.
Even with all the responsibility of leading a global team Joshua still finds time to be actively involved with community service projects at his local church as well.

Ultimately, leadership is about doing the things that drive action, get results, and improve performance. It is the ability to influence and motivate others, and provide the tools and environment that allow others to make the best contribution towards the attainment of goals. A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. They might not set out to be a leader, but they become one by the quality of their actions and the integrity of their intent.
The Manager of the Year Award acknowledges and honors a service and support manager who has excelled at supporting any or all IT services within their organization. Through this award program, HDI seeks to recognize prominent professionals who most clearly demonstrate the ability to serve and advance information technology within their industry. The Manager of the Year Award winner is announced each year at the HDI Annual Conference & Expo.
Nominations for the award must be submitted by October 31.
