I have been a member of HDI for over 10 years now and as I am writing this I was in the middle of taking an HDI on-line course “KCS Foundation”. So, that may be indicator of my relationship with HDI.
My relationship with HDI is not limited to the annual conferences, I am involved with the Local Chapter and Forums. The local chapter has been a fantastic experience. A great setting to discuss issues, meet peers in your area, and get to know the local IT scene. My predecessor insisted I continue the involvement with the Forums and I find the experience invaluable. It is the perfect setting to measure your Support Center against others, learn new skills, identify areas for improvement, discuss issues facing all support centers, and network with your peers.
The training I have received is top notch and the contacts I made in training years ago I am still in contact with today. You could say HDI is part of who I am as an IT Manager. I have found that any issue or problem can be resolved by posing the question to the contacts I have made over the years or on the HDI website.
HDI is more than a membership and conference. HDI brings peers and industry experts together for the opportunity to discuss, learn and share experience at all levels. So, “Why do I love HDI?” - the HDI family has always been there to support me.
