2018 Analyst of the Year Award Finalist

Chris Olmeda, Carnegie Mellon University

Representing the HDI Steel City local chapterĀ

Siobhan TateChris is an outstanding technician that is dedicated to making sure customers always comes first. After being on the team for 1 year he stepped up when necessary to become the unofficial team lead. While handling incoming phone calls, emails and walk ups for tier 1 & 2 incidents and requests he also takes on documentation, training, and higher level technical tasks.

Most importantly this past year he volunteered to help make technology transitions as easy as possible for customers. Never missing a beat in his regular responsibilities Chris also personally helped people transition email clients and networks to our central campus IT infrastructure. He helped write the documentation both for our Help Desk staff as a support tool and the users guide for self help. He would communicate with customers what they would need to do and scheduled a time that was convenient for them. He would come in early or stay later depending on the need and NEVER complain even when dealing with very grouchy customers. This is impressive considering we support at least a half dozen email clients before and after the migration.

Chris is considered the go to technician on our Help Desk team and even has tier 2 and 3 technical folks coming to him for support. While very modest he is also very knowledgeable in the Mac, Linux, and Windows platforms. Even better than that is his attention to detail and customer service skills. Our customers love Chris.

HDI Analyst of the Year Award

Sponsored By:

HDI introduced the Analyst of the Year Award in 2004. Each year, HDI works jointly with the local chapters to identify and award the industry's top first-level support analyst. Support analysts who are nominated at the local chapter will have an opportunity to compete with their peers locally, regionally, and globally for this prestigious award.

The nominator presents to the local chapter a personal business profile of the nominee, including specific attributes that demonstrate the nominee's understanding of industry standards, commitment to excellent service, and record of consistently exceeding performance objectives.

The winners from each of HDI's four local chapter areas are invited to participate in the Analyst of the Year Award festivities held during the HDI Annual Conference & Expo. Robert Half Technology, the premier sponsor, provides each regional winner's conference registration.
