Have a perspective on service and support that deserves a bigger audience? A lesson you learned the hard way? An approach that’s working for your team and could help someone else?

We’d love to hear from you. Applications are now open for the 2027 HDI Featured Contributor program!

We’re looking for people who can bring practical advice, fresh ideas, and firsthand experience to the challenges facing today’s IT service and support professionals. If you enjoy sharing what you know and helping your peers work through tough questions, this could be a great fit.

Five topic areas. Plenty to talk about.

For 2027, we’re aligning our Featured Contributor topics with our five conference tracks, bringing those conversations to the HDI community throughout the year.

Leading World Class Service & Support Teams
How do you help people do their best work? Share your insights on leadership, coaching, communication, team culture, career development, and navigating change.

Achieving IT Service Management Excellence
What does effective service management look like in practice? Explore ITSM strategy, governance, ITIL, continual improvement, and the decisions that help organizations deliver better services.

Evolving Service & Support Experience
How can we make service better for the people who use it and the people who deliver it? Topics include customer and employee experience, service design, knowledge management, communication, and using feedback to make meaningful improvements.

AI in Action
Where is AI making a difference in service and support? Share practical applications, implementation lessons, governance considerations, and approaches to measuring results. We welcome honest accounts of what worked, what didn’t, and what you’re still figuring out.

Optimizing Service & Support Operations
How do you keep improving the day-to-day work of support? Explore processes, tools, metrics, workforce planning, automation, and strategies for building efficient, scalable operations.

You’ll identify your strongest topic areas when you apply. There’s room to explore the connections between them, too.

What’s the commitment?

Selected Featured Contributors will write six original articles during 2027, approximately one every other month.

We’re looking for articles that give readers something useful to think about, try, or discuss with their teams. That might be a step-by-step approach, a thoughtful perspective on an industry challenge, or a candid account of a project and its results.

Contributors should be prepared to:

  • Develop relevant topics in collaboration with HDI’s editorial team.

  • Meet agreed deadlines and respond to editorial feedback.

  • Share original, accurate content grounded in their own knowledge and experience.

  • Keep articles educational and free of sales pitches or product promotion.

You don’t need to have published dozens of articles. A clear point of view, useful experience, and a willingness to work with an editor are a great starting point.

What’s in it for you?

As a 2027 HDI Featured Contributor, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Publish your work on HDI’s website and reach a community of service and support professionals.

  • Build your professional visibility and writing portfolio.

  • Be featured in a contributor spotlight on HDI’s website and LinkedIn.

  • Add the Featured Contributor role to your résumé and LinkedIn profile.

  • Receive a complimentary pass to HDI Service & Support World, contingent on meeting program requirements.

It’s a chance to share what you’ve learned, get your name out there, and contribute to conversations that matter to your peers.

Our approach to AI

We want to hear your ideas, your experiences, and your voice.

AI tools may support brainstorming, outlining, or proofreading, but the substantive writing must be your own. We do not accept fully AI-generated articles or articles containing substantial AI-generated passages.

Contributors are responsible for checking every fact, source, quotation, and example, regardless of the tools used. Any AI use beyond the support activities outlined above should be disclosed to the editorial team. Confidential or proprietary information should never be entered into AI tools.

Ready to apply?

Tell us a little about yourself, the topics you’d like to cover, and the perspective you would bring to the HDI community.

Applications close December 7, 2026.
