This category focuses on the employee experience and celebrates organizations that promote a creative and collaborative work environment. Teamwork and innovation are encouraged, and employees understand the mission, vision, and business goals of their organization. Employees are supported and empowered to continuously improve.

By submitting a completed application, applicants grant HDI the right to publish the application and any images and video, or any portion thereof, as a means of sharing the applicant’s story with the industry and promoting HDI’s products and services.

HDI announces each year’s winner at the HDI Annual Conference & Expo.

This award is sponsored at the national level by Robert Half Technology. With Robert Half Technology as HDI’s premier award sponsor, HDI is able to provide complimentary registration to the HDI Annual Conference & Expo for the top three award finalists.

Candidates for this award must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must work for organizations that support any or all IT services 

Award Criteria

Nominations can come from a variety of sources: self-nomination, peers, direct reports, executives/direct supervisors, etc. HDI does recommend that the nomination process be a joint effort between the nominee and the nominator. This way, the nominee can provide the letter of introduction and input on the various components of the nomination.

Judging Process

The judges will review all nominations and will select the top three finalists based on the following criteria:

Phase 1
  • Each answer will be rated on a scale of 1-4

Ratings will be judged based on the following criteria:

  1. Format
  2. Spelling and grammar
  3. Clear, concise responses
  4. Clear business communication skills
  5. Readability
  6. Coverage of topics
  7. Quality of responses
Phase 2
  • 15-minute interview with panel of judges. Each finalist will be asked the same questions.

An entry must receive a score of 80% or higher to pass from the first phase to the second phase. The top three finalists will be selected for personal interviews.
